History

May 1951

Mote Hurt, commercial fisherman, decided at age 70 that it was time to slow down. He and his family bought Lot #14 in Old Leavenworth for $25. Constructing a concrete block building approximately 20 feet by 28 feet, they opened a bait and tackle shop. In addition, they sold...

1962

When Mote passed away, his wife rented the building to Bob and Nattie Davis. Nattie and her sister ran a short order cafe and ice cream shop for two seasons. After the cafe closed, the building once again became a bait shop.

1976

In January, Cedric and Peg Apple bought the building and coverted it into a restaurant. The Dock opened for business on Derby Day of 1977. It became known for it's good food and friendly service. (Several expansions were made during their ownership.)
